Faculty, staff to present at inaugural Chicago Research Summit

On Friday, Oct. 18, the inaugural Chicago Research Summit will kick off at North Park University. The conference includes a number of faculty and staff from DePaul's Chicago Quarter Program. They will present on Chicago as a classroom tool and research topic.

New murals under Fullerton 'L' station explore DePaul milestones

The newest murals in a multi-year public art project to memorialize key figures and moments in DePaul's history are on display under the Chicago Transit Authority’s Fullerton 'L' station on the Lincoln Park Campus. A dedication will be held on Friday, Oct. 4, in the DePaul Art Museum.

Faculty: Say hello to Faculty 180

This fall, the university will retire Digital Measures permanently. It will be replaced with Faculty 180, a component of the larger Interfolio suite of solutions that will help document the career of all faculty at DePaul from hiring, through yearly merit reviews, to promotion and tenure processes. Digital Measures will be fully decommissioned on Nov. 1.

On Saturday, Oct. 19, DePaul will offer a pre-law preparation program, the CLEO: College Scholars Program, on the Loop Campus. The program is free and all DePaul students are welcome to register.

Scott Bucking earns 2019 Antiquities Endowment Fund grant

Scott Bucking, an associate professor and director of DePaul’s graduate program in history, received a 2019 Antiquities Endowment Fund grant from the American Research Center in Egypt. The $75,000, one-year grant will aid the DePaul-sponsored Beni Hassan South Preservation Project.

As part of the 2019-20 Diversity Signature Series, DePaul will host the 2019 Dolores Huerta Prayer Breakfast Celebration on Friday, Oct. 11. Juan González, a broadcast journalist and investigative reporter, will deliver the keynote address at this year’s breakfast.

The Lunch with Vincent series is back for the 2019-20 academic year. Dave Leitao, the head coach for DePaul's men's basketball team, and Monsignor Ken Velo, senior executive for Catholic Collaborations, will serve as keynote speakers for this fall's programs.
