2024 open enrollment for benefits begins October 23

This year’s Open Enrollment period is Monday, Oct. 23 through Friday, Nov. 3. During the annual Open Enrollment period, benefits-eligible employees can enroll in or make changes to their DePaul benefits. Elections made during the Open Enrollment period will become effective 1/1/2024. If you do not make any changes to your 2023 elections, they will carry forward to 2024. The only exception is Flexible Spending Account elections, which need to be made every year.

Before the two-week Open Enrollment period begins, it is a good idea to think about your current benefit choices and whether they will meet your benefits-related needs during 2024. A great tool to help you evaluate your benefit options is the ALEX Benefits Counselor.

ALEX, DePaul's virtual benefits “counselor,” is an online tool that helps you make smarter benefit choices to help meet your individual needs. Note: ALEX helps you choose benefits, but ALEX doesn’t actually make any enrollment changes for you. You will still need to make your benefits elections through BlueSky during the Open Enrollment period.

Reminder to 2023 Wellness Program Participants: You have until November 30, 2023, to complete program activities to be eligible to earn the $300 incentive credit toward your calendar year 2024 medical plan premiums. For details, see the 2023 Wellness Program Point Schedule. Wellness Program participants will also receive additional information by email.

In January, 2024 DePaul is changing wellness vendors from Wellright to WellOnTarget, which is Blue Cross Blue Shield’s wellness platform. WellOnTarget allows you to accumulate points to purchase merchandise instead of earning a $300 incentive credit. There’s no limit on how many points you earn, and they don’t expire at the end of the year. Additional details about WellOnTarget will be coming soon.

If you have questions about benefits at DePaul, visit the Human Resources website or contact the Benefits Team.
