Academic Growth & Innovation Fund

Established in 2018, the Academic Growth and Innovation Fund seeks to find, encourage and support innovative academic ideas that will have a positive impact on DePaul revenue in the next three years. The fund has a $2 million budget and is now accepting proposals.

Proposals for the Fall award cycle can by submitted from November 10, 2024, through 11:59 pm on December 10, 2024. Projects for the Fall award cycle begin on February 15, 2025. Proposals for the Winter cycle can be submitted from January 15, 2025 through 11:59 pm on February 15, 2025. Projects for the Winter award cycle begin on July 1, 2025. Proposals should be submitted through Blackbaud, DePaul’s internal grant system. All full-time faculty and staff are eligible to apply for AGIF funding.​​

There are three types of funding available from the Academic Growth and Innovation Fund:

Funding Types

Maximum Award

Idea/concept generation

$25,000 for up to one year of funding

Prototype/working model

$100,000 up to two years of funding

Institutional adoption/commercialization

$300,000 up to three years of funding​

The requested level of funding should be reasonably commensurate with the proposed activities and with potential outcomes.
