Take Care DePaul: Fall/Winter season precautions

During this fall and winter season, the DePaul Community Health Team wants to share a few recommendations to Take Care, DePaul.

The Chicago Department of Public Health continues to recommend that individuals stay up to date with COVID-19 and flu vaccines. Visit vaccines.gov to find a provider near you. In many cases, this will be your local pharmacy or doctor’s office.

As Human Resources recently communicated, employees who are enrolled in DePaul’s health plans will have different options based on individual health plans. Please verify your coverage prior to making an appointment. As a reminder, employees may use sick time for preventative care services. View DePaul's sick time policy here.

For those without insurance, visit Home | COVID19 (chicago.gov) for further information on options for vaccination.

In addition to vaccination recommendations, please remember the following:
  • Stay home if you feel sick.
  • DePaul will continue to be a mask-friendly campus. If someone asks you to wear a mask, please do so.
  • If you are at high risk of getting very sick, wear a high-quality mask when indoors in public.
  • If you do become sick, follow these guidelines: Preventing Spread of Respiratory Viruses When You're Sick | Respiratory Illnesses | CDC
  • Visit this website to request free at-home COVID tests. As of late September 2024, residential households in the U.S. are eligible for an order of four, free at-home tests from USPS.com.
Take Care, DePaul!
