FAQs

Yes.  All programs involving minors on DePaul University campus must register with the Compliance & Risk Management office.

Yes.  All Authorized Adults involved in programs with minor children at DePaul University must complete these requirements:

- Show proof of a Criminal & Sex Offender Registry background check which has been conducted within the past four years.

- Complete annual training (Illinois DCFS certification or comparable).

- Agree to abide by the Code of Conduct.

Please allow a minimum of six weeks for registration of events involving minors.

Violations of this policy must be immediately reported. Situations that involve life threatening emergencies should be reported to 911 and to Public Safety. If you have reasonable cause to believe that a child under the age of 18 may have been subjected to physical or sexual abuse, may be at risk of physical or sexual abuse, or is being deprived of the proper or necessary care, it should be immediately reported to the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) by call the DCFS hotline at 1-800-25-ABUSE.

Non-DePaul personnel should submit certificates of completed background checks to the Program Director of the event.  The Program Director will submit the certificates to the registration.
