This year Christmas at DePaul returns to St. Vincent de Paul Church for its 12th anniversary. Selections of familiar and classic Christmas music are performed by the 150-member DePaul Community Chorus and a 50-member orchestra of students from the School of Music, providing a joyful score to this retelling of our Lord's birth. Our Theatre School does the spectacular staging for the event.
Unlike most Christmas productions in the city, there is no admission charge, but we request that a free-will donation be made to the St. Vincent de Paul parish-sponsored charities ministering to those most in need.
Performances this year will be:
- Thursday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m.
- Friday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m.
- Friday, Dec.7, at 9 p.m.
Following the Friday 7 p.m. performance, there will be a Christmas party in the Student Center for DePaul faculty, staff, students, trustees, and families. Santa Claus will share treats with the children and pose for photos with family and friends.
Due to high demand, tickets for this year's performances will again be distributed via a lottery.
You can register for the lottery at the Christmas at DePaul website from Thursday, Oct. 18 through Friday, Nov. 2. Those that have been selected through the lottery to receive tickets will be notified on Nov. 7
. Tickets are required for admittance to each performance of Christmas at DePaul.
During the busy Christmas season, I hope that you will be able to take time to join us for what I am certain will be a magical and inspiring evening.
