On May 7, the Board of Trustees elected Gerald A. Beeson as its chair and Judith P. Greffin and Harry J. Harczak Jr. as vice chairs. All three will serve three-year terms, effective July 1.

"Their combined leadership, expertise and dedication to our Catholic, Vincentian mission will further strengthen DePaul, as we continue to make significant progress in the university's strategic plan."
Beeson is the chief operating officer of Citadel. Prior to becoming COO in 2008, he served as Citadel's Chief Financial Officer, a role he has held since 2003. He joined Citadel in 1993 as an intern and was among the company's first employees. A DePaul alumnus, Beeson has a bachelor's degree in commerce with concentrations in accountancy and finance, and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He became a DePaul trustee in 2008 and served as vice chair from July to December 2020. He started serving as chair on Dec. 14, following the loss of
Lori Holland, who passed away on Nov. 26.
Greffin is the former executive vice president and chief investment officer for Allstate, where she led a global investment group and served as a member of the CEO's Operating Committee. Prior to her 2008 CIO appointment, she held key investment positions, including strategy and business development, portfolio management, fixed-income management, as well as operations and technology. She holds an MBA from the Fisher School at the Ohio State University, and a bachelor's in marketing from Miami University. She became a DePaul trustee in 2017.
Harczak is the managing director of Sawdust Investment Management. Prior to his current role, he served as executive vice president of CDW, a Fortune 500 company and leading provider of technology products and services for business, government and education. Prior to CDW, he was an audit partner at Coopers & Lybrand. He earned a bachelor's in accounting from DePaul and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He became a DePaul trustee in 2008. He also has been serving as a vice chair for the board since December 2020.
