At the end of May, David Kalsbeek, senior vice president for Enrollment Management and Marketing at DePaul, announced he will retire
from the university on June 30. Effective July 1, Paula Luff will serve as interim vice president for Enrollment Management and Marketing. Karen LeVeque will take on Luff's current responsibilities, serving as interim assistant vice president of Financial Aid. Luff and LeVeque will serve in their interim roles until the search for a permanent vice president is successfully concluded.
“I am grateful for Paula and Karen’s dedication to our university and willingness to take on these roles,” says Salma Ghanem, acting provost. “Their range of experience at DePaul will be invaluable during this time of change.”
Luff currently serves as the associate vice president for Enrollment Services. She joined DePaul in 2003 and has served in several leadership roles for Financial Aid. In 2014 her leadership responsibilities expanded to include the Office of the University Registrar. In 2018, she was elected to chair the board of the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators.
LeVeque joined the university in 2008. Since 2012 she has served as the director of DePaul Central and Financial Aid Student Services. She has been a member of the Illinois Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators for 30 years, currently serving as the organization’s president-elect. She will become president of the ILASFAA in 2020.
The university will share information about the search for the next vice president of Enrollment Marketing and Management when it is available.
