As executive vice president, Sidler serves as the chief operating officer and chief financial officer for the university. Areas of responsibility include strategic capital and financial planning, facility and real estate management, treasury services, information services, human resources and risk management.

“Sherri is a respected leader and natural collaborator. Her wise counsel these past several months has been invaluable," says DePaul President A. Gabriel Esteban, Ph.D. “After conducting a national search, it is clear Sherri's extensive experience and deep knowledge of our university make her well equipped to lead DePaul's financial and daily operations in support of our Catholic, Vincentian and urban mission."

During her time at DePaul, Sidler has been responsible for financial reporting and analysis, development of university-wide budgets, as well as the oversight of financial and budget systems. She joined DePaul in 2006 as the assistant vice president for finance and assistant controller. She became controller in 2014 and vice president for finance in 2018. In those roles, she oversees financial accounting and reporting; payment and payroll services; gift and grant accounting; student financial accounts; and budgets and financial systems for DePaul.

“Sherri's expertise combined with her leadership skills are incredibly important in driving the long-term fiscal health of DePaul," says Board Chair Gerald Beeson. “The Board of Trustees voted unanimously to appoint her as executive vice president, and we look forward to working with Sherri in this new capacity."

Sidler is co-chair of the Strategic Resource Allocation Committee. She has served on multiple university-wide committees, including the Strategic Planning Task Force. She earned her bachelor's degree in accountancy from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.

“I'm grateful for the opportunity to continue collaborating with our exceptional staff to strengthen DePaul's financial outlook and operations," Sidler says. “Together, we will ensure DePaul fulfills its Catholic, Vincentian mission for many future generations."
