The president's office is now accepting applications for the Presidential Fellows Program for the 2022-23 academic year. The program is an opportunity exclusively for faculty and serves to further DePaul's strategic objectives outlined in our strategic plan, “Grounded in Mission: The Plan for DePaul 2024."This year marks the third annual Presidential Fellows Program. Details are outlined on the Office of the President website.
Fellows will work with the president and the senior leadership team to develop a more robust understanding of university administration. Faculty will conduct research and develop innovative practices, focusing on diversity and inclusion issues affecting the recruitment, retention and success of diverse faculty, staff and students.
The work of the Presidential Fellow will vary. However, the fellow is expected to bring an overall commitment to intellectual grounding of actions in research and program innovation. The fellow will complete an action plan for the appointment term, which will help guide the fellowship year.
The Presidential Fellows Program is open to any tenured faculty member with an expressed interest in working on diversity and inclusion related issues, research and program innovation. The current fellows are Valerie Johnson, an associate professor of political science; and Jose Soltero, an associate professor of sociology. Past fellows include Chi-Jang Yin, an associate professor of photography and media art; Christina Rivers, an associate professor of political science; and Alyssa Westring, an associate professor of management.
Past and present fellows will conduct an information session panel in January regarding their fellowship experience and the benefits of participating in the program.
To apply, interested faculty members must:
- Complete the online application by Jan. 18, 2022.
- Submit a letter of interest and provide a CV.
- Submit two written letters of recommendation. Only two letters of recommendation will be accepted and considered.
- Receive the support of the dean of the faculty member's home college or school.
