DePaul's third annual Innovation Day, "Collaborating through Convergent Research," is planned for Friday, Jan. 28, from 9 am – 2 pm. All full- and part-time faculty and staff are invited to
RSVP for this year's hybrid event. The focus of the 2022 event will be on convergent, collaborative
and interdisciplinary research.
In addition to an opportunity to learn about innovative initiatives at DePaul, the program is designed to encourage more individuals to turn their ideas into projects. A. Gabriel Esteban, president of DePaul, and Salma Ghanem, provost for the university, will open the day with remarks. The program will feature faculty presentations and panels that highlight research and innovation projects focusing on equity and inclusion, social impact and industry partnerships.
Faculty awarded internal and external grants in the past academic year also will be recognized during the program's luncheon. The day will end with keynote speaker and alumnus,
Abin Kuriakose, who currently serves as the
executive vice president of innovation and venture strategy for World Business Chicago. His presentation, "Forget Silicon Valley, Welcome to Chicago," will touch on how Chicago has the ingredients to become a global tech and innovation hub.
