Throughout the fall quarter, Newsline will highlight all recently promoted and tenured DePaul faculty members. This issue features faculty from the College of Communication.

Blair Davis
Blair Davis, promoted to associate professor with tenure

An assistant professor of media and cinema studies, Blair Davis' research interests include classic Hollywood cinema, the economic contexts of cinema and media ecology. Davis is most proud when able to help students navigate a challenging assignment or concept and see them build a connection to the same ideas that inspire him as a teacher and a scholar.

Daniel Makagon
Daniel Makagon, promoted to full professor

Daniel Makagon is a professor and chair of communication studies at DePaul. Energized by the university's mission and dedication to experiential learning, Makagon strives to create smaller learning opportunities and course assignments that take students outside the classroom. This year he looks forward to teaching another section of study abroad that travels to Madrid and Barcelona.

Jason Martin

Jason Martin, tenured

As an associate professor and chair of DePaul's journalism program, Jason Martin's research focuses on the intersections of journalism, technology and democracy. This academic year he looks forward to working with the journalism program to expand internship opportunities and create new philanthropic avenues to help fund scholarships for students forced to take unpaid internships.
