Interim Provost Salma Ghanem announced Rob Karpinski will serve as associate vice president for academic and library affairs. As part of his role, Karpinski will assume the leadership role of the library.

“This change in leadership model for the university library is an example of DePaul's commitment to addressing FY21 budget needs, while maintaining the services that are provided to our students, faculty and staff," Ghanem says. “We value the importance of the library in academia and this leadership decision was made to minimize the impact on staff and their significant contributions, as well as to reduce the impact on library collections."

Karpinski has served as interim university librarian since December 2018 and associate vice president for Academic Affairs since 2016.
