The WEC's charge is to hear, report and suggest resolutions for workplace issues affecting the lives of adjunct faculty members across the university, except for issues of academic policy and governance, which fall under the purview of Faculty Council and its Committee on Contingent Faculty. Provost Marten denBoer created the advisory body, which includes 14 adjunct faculty members, two years ago on the recommendation of the Adjunct Task Force.Last year, the WEC hosted or co-hosted a number of events for adjunct faculty members, including a resource fair in the fall, a meet and greet on each campus and the annual Adjunct Faculty Appreciation Reception.
