A key initiative of Designing DePaul calls for creating a new digital presence that will showcase how the university is changing the world.

DePaul is now set to launch a digital transformation that will modernize its public website and increase connections between university community members. DePaul has selected Deloitte Consulting to lead the project, which will launch on March 1 and is expected to conclude in spring of 2025.

A committee of 16 faculty, staff and administrators participated in the university’s selection process and made the recommendation to partner with Deloitte. The full committee list is available below.

Driven by the desire to better connect the DePaul community, a new digital presence will provide an improved user experience. The project also will develop new data-sharing infrastructure and improved customized internal portals that will enable faculty, staff and students to show their work in more compelling and powerful ways.

It became clear from our Designing DePaul conversations that we need more robust tools to share data and create interactivity between community members so that we can truly capture the incredible work occurring across the university,” says President Robert Manuel. “Deloitte is well respected for its expertise in digital transformation and their knowledge of higher education. I know they are excited to collaborate with our community members to ensure our new digital presence is by DePaul and for DePaul.”

Students, faculty, staff, alumni and community partners will have the opportunity to provide input throughout the four phases of the project, as shown in the graphic below. Members of the community will be invited to a kick-off symposium in April, listening sessions and user focus groups, among other opportunities to contribute feedback.

Digital Presence timeline
DePaul community members inspired the scope and vision for the project during some 50 Designing DePaul listening sessions last year. In discussing the university’s Digital Presence, faculty, staff and students asked for ways to remove obstacles to sharing information and foster two-way dialogue. Deloitte Consulting has extensive experience implementing large, complex systems and will help ensure the final product meets these needs.

“We are excited by the innovative vision and are thrilled to partner with DePaul on this digital transformation that will sustain the university for generations to come,” says Deloitte’s Betty Fleurimond, executive sponsor of the project. “We look forward to working with community members across the university during all phases of the project to fully realize the impact of this important initiative.”

Regular updates and ways to participate will be shared with the university community throughout the project on the Designing DePaul initiatives website.
