This weekend is what the Class of 2023 has worked so hard for - commencement!

To get the most out of your well-deserved commencement ceremony and have a seamless, day-of experience, here are the top five things you should remember going into this weekend:

What to bring and when to arrive

  • Arrive at the Wintrust Arena loading dock an hour before your ceremony in your regalia. There will be no designated areas to change on-site.
  • Be sure to bring your reader card and your belongings in a Wintrust-approved bag. Wintrust Arena has a bag policy that limits the size and style of bags allowed. These policies will be enforced without exception.

How to get there

Paid parking is available but limited near Wintrust Arena. Consider using public transportation or a taxi or rideshare service.

Tickets

If you did not pick up your tickets at Commencement Kickoff, they will be under your name at the Wintrust Box Office beginning one hour before your ceremony.

Livestream

The ceremony will be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person.

Diplomas

You will not receive your diploma at the ceremony but rather a diploma cover. For students who have conferred, your diploma should have arrived at your diploma address provided in Campus Connect. If you have yet to officially graduate, your diploma will be mailed following the conferral of your degree. Diplomas are typically mailed eight to ten weeks after conferral.

Above all else - have fun and enjoy this special day! You have worked so hard to get to your graduation ceremony, so cherish the moment with the Blue Demon community, your family and friends.
