Housed within the Division of Mission and Ministry, Just DePaul is designed to advance the agenda of
DePaul’s mission statement. The new initiative particularly aims to support the mission by network-weaving with faculty, students, staff, alumni and community partners to design the future.
Network-weaving resources
The university has a long-standing tradition of connecting and leveraging assets to support social and environmental justice. Just DePaul is designed to support the campus community to deepen and strengthen those bonds within ourselves and our communities. The Just DePaul team spent the past summer building an organizational infrastructure to support network-weaving across the university.
A concrete example is a partnership with the
Irwin W. Steans Center for Community-Based Service Learning and Community Service Studies. Just DePaul is working to asset-map our community engagement and public service activities via
Collaboratory, a powerful online platform for documenting and researching the institution’s commitment to community engagement through teaching, research and service. In this way, faculty, students, staff and the general public can access an institutional inventory of DePaul's commitments and contributions to social and environmental justice.
Just DePaul also developed a
Slack community to support faculty, students and staff connections and communications for collaboration. Additionally, Just DePaul launched
Instagram,
Twitter,
Facebook and
LinkedIn accounts to tell the story of DePaul’s social and environmental justice change agents.
Upcoming opportunities to design the future
Just DePaul invites faculty, staff and students to network-weave among community members at the university-wide
Town Hall on Sustainability on Wednesday, Oct. 26.
