There is still time to get your ticket for TEDxDePaulUniversity on May 4 at 1 p.m. in the Holtschneider Performance Center. Tickets are $5 through Eventbrite.
This is the first in-person TEDxDePaulUniversity since 2019. The event will explore the theme, "Metamorphosis." The 2022 TEDxDePaulUniversity speakers' schedule is:
- Carlos Roqués, an undergraduate student in the College of Computing and Digital Media, “'Cartoonishly Simple' Isn't So Simple"
- Joseph Chen, a licensed clinical psychologist and associate professor in the School of Continuing and Professional Studies, “Making Change is Hard"
- Desirie McKay, a licensed clinical social worker and field education coordinator in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, “No Magic Recipe to Reinvention After Loss"
- Isaiah Boozer, an undergraduate student in The Theatre School, “20.13"
- Liam Heneghan, a professor and former chair in the College of Science and Health, “Learning to Live in a Kingdom of Decay"
Even DePaul's famous mascot, DIBS, got in on the fun earlier this month giving his own TED-style talk.
Guest performers and more
This year's event will also feature two DePaul community musical performances.
Jim Mourey, a professor in the Driehaus College of Business, will serve as the event host, leading the audience through a quick improv exercise. The event also will have interactive activities, snacks and TEDx-themed giveaways.
COVID-19 safety guidelines
