DePaul mourns the death of Rev. Paul Golden, C.M., life trustee

Rev. Paul Golden, C.M., life trustee, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024 at St. Mary’s of the Barrens in Perryville, Mo. 

Fr. Golden was elected to DePaul’s board of trustees in 1985 and served as university secretary and senior executive for mission for 10 years. In 1995 he was appointed the 24th president of Niagara University in New York where he served until 1999. Prior to joining DePaul, Fr. Golden taught canon law and theology at Kenrick Seminary in St. Louis and served as president of St. Thomas Seminary in Denver from 1977 to 1985. Fr. Golden became a life trustee of DePaul University in 2009. 

Services will be held this coming week:

Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024
7:00 p.m. Wake and Vigil Service

Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024
10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass
12:00 p.m. Lunch

Both services will be held at Mary, Mother of God Chapel in St. Mary’s of the Barrens and will also be live streamed on their Facebook page
