Changes to using Remote Desktop take effect, beginning Sept. 27

Do you connect remotely to a Windows PC on campus? If so, your steps to connect are about to change.

DePaul student employees, faculty or staff who connect remotely to Windows PCs on campus will use a new process. This new Remote Desktop Gateway service will prevent direct connections to Windows-based computers on campus using Remote Desktop, adding important security to DePaul's network.

This change will occur starting Sept. 27, based on the building where the Windows PC resides (see table below for building and date listings).

Please switch before the deadline: Although you can remotely connect without the Gateway until Sept. 27, all student employees, faculty, and staff are encouraged to switch over to the RD Gateway and RD Helper Tool before then to ensure a smooth connection and minimal disruption.

Review these instructions to connect through the RD Gateway with the RD Helper Tool. Please note: If you do not remote into a machine on campus, you do not need to set this tool up.
