Law dean running NYC Marathon for lung cancer research

When Jennifer Rosato Perea was diagnosed with lung cancer last year, one of her first questions to her physicians was, “Will I ever run again?”

Less than a year after undergoing treatment, the dean of the DePaul University College of Law is now training to run the New York City marathon — and raising money for lung cancer research in the process.

“I’ve been able to get back the gift of running,” says Rosato Perea, affectionately known as “the running dean.” “I believe in the research. I know it helped me, and it can help a lot of other people.”
