Updated on-campus mask guidance

Students in masks in a lab classroom
Due to the highly contagious nature of the omicron variant, DePaul recently updated its on-campus mask guidance to ensure everyone's safety and Take Care, DePaul.  (Randall Spriggs/DePaul University)
Now that the winter quarter is in full swing, DePaul's Community Health Team wants to remind everyone about the university's updated mask recommendations to Take Care, DePaul.

Everyone on campus — regardless of their vaccination status — is required to wear a face mask indoors.

Due to the highly contagious nature of the omicron variant, cloth masks alone no longer meet the university's mask requirement. DePaul strongly recommends using medical grade masks such as KN95 or N95 masks. If you do not have an N95 or KN95 mask, you may double mask with a cloth mask layered over a surgical one. A well-fitted surgical mask by itself is also acceptable but not preferable.

If you need one, KN95 masks are available at a limited number of first-floor desk areas near building entrances at the following locations:

Loop Campus:

  • CDM Center, 243 S. Wabash Ave., Public Safety desk in the lobby
  • Daley Building, 14 E. Jackson Blvd., Public Safety desk in the lobby
  • Daley Building, State Street entrance, Public Safety desk in the lobby
  • Lewis Center, 25 E. Jackson Blvd., Public Safety desk in the lobby
  • DePaul Center, 1 E. Jackson Blvd., Public Safety desk in the lobby

Lincoln Park Campus:

  • Holtschneider Performance Center, 2330 N. Halsted St., Public Safety desk in the lobby
  • Schmitt Academic Center, 2320 N. Kenmore Ave., Parking Services Office in room 177
  • 2400 N. Sheffield Building in the lobby
  • Student Center, 2250 N. Sheffield Ave., lobby

Face masks remain optional outdoors and may be removed if individuals are alone in an office with the door closed.
