DePaul professors Patty Gerstenblith and Heather Snyder Quinn are the recipients of the 2021-2022 Wicklander Fellowship, announced by the university's Institute for Business and Professional Ethics.
The fellowship honors full-time DePaul faculty who demonstrate an interest in applied or professional ethics related to his or her particular field of research. Two professors are chosen each year for the honor.
Gerstenblith, a distinguished research professor in the College of Law, will focus her Wicklander project on the codes of ethics and other guidelines for professional conduct pertaining to archaeological artifacts among art market participants, including museums, dealers and auction houses, academics, and other professionals.
Quinn, an assistant professor in the College of Computing and Digital Media, School of Design, will study speculative design as a method to imagine the future implications of the metaverse.
Founded in 1985, the Institute for Business & Professional Ethics facilitates ethical deliberation in decision-makers by stirring their moral conscience, encouraging moral imagination, and stimulating research in business innovation and practices. The IBPE serves as a forum for exploring and fostering ethical practices in business and the professions particularly aimed at students, faculty, business professionals and the Chicago community.
