Reina firmly believes in the power of workers collectively seeking to improve their working conditions because what makes our workplaces better ultimately makes students’ learning experiences better.
Rooted in disability justice and accessibility, Reina hopes to help make DePaul a more accessible and inclusive workplace. Additionally, with their academic background in writing, rhetoric, and discourse, Reina holds immense value for the various ways workers make meaning of their work and their workplace, since this is critical to understanding what will uplift DePaul staff in meaningful ways.
Finally, Reina hopes to use their role on Staff Council to empower other staff workers to speak out about their needs and find connection with each other.
