Chicago in the 1920s was an economic juggernaut, its vitality expressed in the new skyscrapers that shot up along the Chicago River in the heart of the city. In their diverse architectural style and ambitious scale, these towers helped to establish corporate identities and advertise corporate success, and they defined the city’s look. Through architectural drawings, photographs, and archival documents this exhibition traces an inside view of the history of Chicago’s iconic skyline.
