Forty-four contemporary artists shatter every assumption about the domestic craft of needlework. Gingham and organdy, bicycle tires, Styrofoam, baseballs, thorns, pearls, and false eyelashes are recombined into surprising and beautiful objects that reflect personal histories and challenge notions about art and gender.
