Today, Nov. 10, President A. Gabriel Esteban named Sherri Sidler as the interim executive vice president for DePaul. Her appointment will be effective Jan. 1, 2021.
Beginning Jan. 1, Sherri Sidler will serve as the interim executive vice president for DePaul.
Sidler has served as the vice president for finance since 2018 and controller since 2014. She joined the university in 2006 as the assistant vice president for finance and assistant controller. During her time at DePaul, Sidler has been responsible for operational financial reporting and analysis, the development of university-wide budgets, as well as the oversight of financial and budget systems. In her current role, she oversees financial accounting and reporting; payment and payroll services; gift and grant accounting; student financial accounts; and budgets and financial systems for DePaul.
Sidler is a member of the Strategic Resource Allocation Committee, and has also served on multiple university-wide committees, including the Strategic Planning Task Force. She earned her bachelor's degree in accountancy from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
“Sherri has extensive knowledge of DePaul's financial operations, and I have always appreciated her strategic counsel," Dr. Esteban says. “A known collaborator, she has worked extensively with areas across the university to improve processes. I am grateful for her willingness to step into this interim position."
Sidler's interim appointment follows the announcement made last week by Executive Vice President Jeff Bethke. Effective Dec. 31, Bethke will step down from his current role to found an operational/financial consultancy aimed at higher education clients undertaking transformational change.
