As the COVID-19 pandemic remains a concern worldwide, the university is taking steps to introduce a new normal—one that will maximize safety, student success and strengthening our community.
To provide employees more detailed instructions for Fall, the Restarting Campus Operations Task Force collected many of its recommendations to date into a guide,
DePaul's Plans for Fall: An Overview of Employee Considerations. It can be found on the Employee Return section of the
Return to Campus website, which has been updated extensively with new FAQs and information pertaining to the phased return.
The overview includes sections on health and safety guidance, health monitoring, work hours and options for returning to campus, guidance for specific workplace scenarios (including university-funded travel), and personal considerations such as personal travel, public transportation and how to seek health and wellness resources.
This guide is part of the university's overall efforts to prepare faculty, staff and students for the Fall quarter. Other preparations include:
- Online training from Human Resources
- Discussion series with DePaul leaders
- Guide for student considerations
In accordance with the
guidance from our state and local governments, DePaul will adhere to the principles of public health and hygiene measures, physical distancing and reduced density of staff, faculty and students on campus during the Fall quarter. In order to maintain appropriate density, the university will implement flexible work options determined at the college or unit level.
Managers may use information in the employee guide to help structure options that are most appropriate for the work being completed by the unit. As we work to create a COVID-19 prevention culture, teleworking will remain in place for a significant portion of employees. Employees will receive specific instructions by their college or unit leadership about returning to campus for work.
DePaul will adjust its plans over time in accordance with guidance from health and government officials. Updates will be communicated in Newsline and on the Return to Campus website
