DePaul has new procedures in place to promote safety in restrooms for the limited population of people who will be using them on campus in the fall.
Face coverings
First and foremost, like everywhere else on DePaul's campuses, occupants are required to wear face coverings at all times in restrooms.
Occupancy
DePaul is not regulating restrooms' traffic and occupancy. However, because there are fewer on-campus classes this fall and a significant portion of faculty and staff are working remotely, restroom traffic will be significantly lighter.
Disinfection
Each evening, every restroom, excluding private facilities in residence halls' rooms, will be cleaned and disinfected.
Furthermore, high-traffic and larger restroom facilities will be checked and re-stocked, and high-touch surfaces, such as faucet handles, will be disinfected at least once throughout the business day. During that time, Facility Operations will temporarily lock the restroom because the university is using stronger chemical disinfectants and wants to ensure every high-touch surface is sanitized properly.

Propping restroom entrance doors
Campus visitors may also notice that some restroom doors are propped open. This is to help eliminate the need for people to touch door handles. However, this will only occur when occupants' privacy isn't compromised.
