The in-person commencement ceremonies for the Class of 2022 are less than a month away. Before we start thinking about the students walking across the stage, graduates and faculty attending commencement should plan on attending the upcoming Commencement Kickoff event.

Class of 2022 graduates

The multi-day event is scheduled by college and campus, as outlined below. During the event, graduates will receive their allotted tickets, reader card, and cap and gown — unless they arranged to have these items shipped home. Each college will have its own table to answer any questions. Staff from Alumni Relations, Career Services and GradImages, for cap-and-gown photos, will also be available.

Wednesday, June 1, and Thursday, June 2

DePaul Center on the Concourse Level from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

  • Jarvis College of Computing and Digital Media
  • College of Communication
  • School of Continuing and Professional Studies
  • Driehaus College of Business
  • Kellstadt Graduate School of Business

Tuesday, June 7, and Wednesday, June 8

Lincoln Park Student Center, Room 120 A & B, from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

  • College of Education
  • School of Music
  • The Theatre School
  • College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences
  • College of Science and Health

No appointment is needed. Graduates should plan to spend about 30 minutes on-site. A graduate who cannot attend can have a representative pick up items. The representative will need the graduate's DePaul ID number, either an email address or phone number, and an email from the graduate granting permission to collect their items.

If a graduate plans to have a photo taken and had the cap and gown shipped home, don't forget to bring them to the kickoff event.

Faculty attending graduation

Faculty who are attending commencement should attend their college's Kickoff event during the times and dates listed above. When you arrive, you should go to the Regalia Distribution table, and inform the staff that you are a faculty member picking up regalia. Getting it at the Kickoff event will provide you time to steam or iron everything ahead of the June ceremony. Steaming will not be available on-site the day of commencement.

If you are unable to pick up your regalia during Kickoff, it will be available at Wintrust Arena in the Faculty Green Room but will not be steamed.

Extra tickets

We recognize that not all graduates will use their allotted tickets. Students may inquire at their college tables about returned tickets while at the Kickoff event. If graduates have extra tickets that they will not use, they can drop them off at their college's table.

Thank-you notes and questions

Graduates can submit a thank-you note and photo to faculty and staff who have made an impact on their college career before June 7 to be featured in Newsline. Faculty and staff can submit their congrats notes and photos to the Class of 2022. If you have any questions, please click here for a list of college contact emails.
