Grads and faculty attending commencement: Go to your college's Commencement Pickup

Graduates at commencement 2022
(DePaul University/Jeff Carrion)

The commencement ceremonies for the Class of 2023 are less than a month away. Before we start thinking about the students walking across the stage, graduates and faculty attending commencement should plan on attending the upcoming Commencement Pickup event.

Class of 2023 graduates

The Commencement Pickup event is held over several days, and by college, to accommodate the number of graduates. You must attend the day and time for your college because your reader card, tickets and regalia will only be available at that campus.  Attending both days is not necessary. Graduates should anticipate being at the event for about 30 minutes.

Wednesday, May 31, and Thursday, June 1

DePaul Center on the Concourse Level from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

  • College of Communication
  • Driehaus College of Business
  • Kellstadt Graduate School of Business
  • Jarvis College of Computing and Digital Media
  • School of Continuing and Professional Studies

Tuesday, June 6, and Wednesday, June 7

Lincoln Park Student Center, Room 120 A/B, from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

  • College of Education
  • College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences
  • College of Science and Health
  • School of Music
  • The Theatre School

No appointment is needed. A graduate who cannot attend can have a representative pick up items. The representative will need the graduate's DePaul ID number, college and major information, and an email or letter from the graduate granting permission to collect their items.

Many university partners will be available to ensure you have everything you need for your ceremony:

  • College representatives
  • Alumni Relations
  • Career Services
  • DePaul University Bookstore, to purchase diploma covers, alumni gear and more!
  • GradImages, to allow graduates to take pictures in their regalia.

If a graduate plans to have a photo taken and had the cap and gown shipped home, don't forget to bring them to the Pickup event.

Faculty attending graduation

Faculty who are attending commencement should attend their college's Pickup event during the times and dates listed above. When you arrive, you should go to the Regalia Distribution table, and inform the staff that you are a faculty member picking up regalia. Getting it at the Pickup event will provide you time to steam or iron everything ahead of the June ceremony. Steaming will not be available on site the day of commencement.

If you are unable to pick up your regalia during Pickup, it will be available at Wintrust Arena in the Faculty Green Room but will not be steamed.

Extra tickets

Students were notified about additional tickets via the ticket lottery in early May. The original six guest tickets and any additional lottery tickets are available at the Commencement Pickup event for your college.

Some graduates may not need all of their tickets. Any unneeded tickets can be returned at the college’s table at Commencement Pickup. Students in need of more tickets may inquire at their college’s tables about returned tickets.
