With DePaul halfway through the fall quarter, the university has an update on the current COVID-19-related environment, along with a few important reminders to Take Care, DePaul.
COVID-19 update
The
city of Chicago and
DePaul are seeing fewer medically diagnosed COVID-19 cases. This is great news and a trend we hope will continue. Thank you to every person who has followed safety precautions to Take Care, DePaul.
Further, DePaul is incredibly proud of the community's vaccination rate. As of Oct. 11, 99.94 percent of students, 99.68 percent of faculty and 96.9 percent of staff are fully compliant with DePaul's COVID-19 vaccine mandate.* As we know, the vaccines are proven effective at greatly reducing the spread of the virus, as well as at preventing serious illness and death from COVID-19.
Important reminders
While city and university case numbers are encouraging, the COVID-19 pandemic is not over. Every DePaul individual needs to continue to be diligent and follow all
safety guidelines outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
All students, faculty and staff are required to:
- Wear a mask indoors;
-
Report when you receive a
confirmed diagnosis that you have COVID-19 (do not report exposure);
- Not attend in-person classes or come to campus if you have symptoms; and
- Get
tested if you have symptoms or have been exposed.

*Fully compliant individuals include those who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, or have received an approved medical or religious exemption.
