Preparing for 2024 Commencement

​​​Congratulations to our 2024 graduates! You’ve worked hard to get here and the entire DePaul community is proud of you and looking forward to celebrating with you. 

In November, DePaul announced its 2024 commencement ceremonies will be held at the Chicago Theatre for the College of Law on Saturday, May 18, and at Wintrust Arena for all remaining colleges on Saturday, June 15, and Sunday, June 16. For those unable to attend commencement in person, a livestream will be available.

Commencement Ceremony Schedule

College of Law 

Saturday, May 18, 11 a.m. 

June Ceremonies 

Saturday, June 15 ​

8 a.m. – Jarvis College of Computing and Digital Media,  

1 p.m. – College of Communication and College of Education 

6 p.m. – College of Science and Health, School of Music, and The Theatre School 

Sunday, June 16 

8 a.m. – Driehaus College of Business (undergraduate only) 

1 p.m. – Kellstadt Graduate School of Business 

6 p.m. – College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and School of Continuing and Professional Studies

The remainder of this article outlines next steps for graduating students, including key deadlines, student speaker application, ceremony ticket information and purchasing regalia. 

What’s next  

To help students prepare for their upcoming graduation, below is a list of upcoming deadlines and instructions by college:  

College of Law 

April 10: Create a (free) Ticketmaster account to receive your digital tickets, if you don’t already have one. 

April 15: RSVP to reserve tickets​ 

April 15: Purchase regalia through Herff Jone​s 

May 15-16: Attend Commencement Pickup on campus  

June ceremonies

March 10: Apply to be your college’s student speaker  

April 30: RSVP for your ceremony and reserve tickets in Campus Connect   

April 30: Purchase regalia through Herff Jones 


Degree conferral

College of Law students who complete their coursework between summer session 2023 and spring semester 2024 are eligible to participate in the 2024 commencement ceremony. Students from all other colleges who complete their coursework between fall 2023 and summer session 2024 may be eligible to participate in the June 2024 commencement ceremonies.  

If you missed the February 1 degree conferral deadline, contact your college advisor for assistance.  

Student speaker applications (June ceremonies) 

Graduates participating in the June ceremonies who want to share an inspiring message or a story about their DePaul journey are welcome to apply to be their college’s student speaker by March 10.  

RSVP and Reserve Tickets  

College of Law 

Tickets for commencement at The Chicago Theatre are distributed electronically via Ticketmaster and the Chicago Theatre app. The Office of University Events will send graduates detailed instructions on how to download and transfer tickets closer to the ceremony. 

For now, please follow the steps below to prepare. 

Step 1: Create a Ticketmaster account. (If you have an existing Ticketmaster account, skip to Step 2.)

Create a free Ticketmaster account linked to your mobile phone and DePaul email address. 

Step 2: RSVP and reserve your ceremony tickets.

Each graduate may request up to eight (8) guest tickets, plus a ticket for themselves. RSVP to the ceremony and reserve tickets by Monday, April 15. In the form, you will be asked to provide your Ticketmaster account information, as well as a guide to pronounce your name correctly at the ceremony. RSVP’ing will reserve tickets in your name for the ceremony. 

June ceremonies 

To RSVP to your college’s ceremony and reserve tickets, visit Campus Connect​ and follow this path: Student Homepage > Advising, Progress & Graduation > RSVP for Commencement. Please note the RSVP button will only be visible after you have applied to receive your degree. The deadline to RSVP is Tuesday, April 30. RSVP’ing will reserve your six (6) guest tickets, which will be available at Commencement Pickup. 

Purchase regalia  

To participate in the ceremonies, regalia is required and must be purchased through Herff Jones
  • The deadline to order for the College of Law is Monday, April 15. Law regalia includes a cap, gown, tassel and hood.
  • The deadline to order for June ceremonies is Tuesday, April 30. Bachelor’s degree regalia includes a cap, gown, tassel and red stole. Master’s and doctoral degree regalia includes a cap, gown, tassel and hood.
