Campus Compact recently named Ben Raanan, a student in DePaul's Master of Fine Arts directing program in The Theatre School, as a 2019 Newman Civic Fellow. In addition to his role as a student, Raanan is a theatre director, educator and disability advocate. The fellowship is set to begin in September.
The Newman Civic Fellowship recognizes and supports community-focused students who are public problem-solvers at Campus Compact member institutions. Fellows are nominated by their school president or chancellor on the basis of their potential for public leadership. Through the year-long fellowship, Campus Compact provides students with training and resources to nurture their passions and help them develop strategies for social change.
