Abin Kuriakose, the executive vice president of innovation and venture strategy for World Business Chicago, will deliver the keynote address, “Forget Silicon Valley, Welcome to Chicago," during DePaul's third annual Innovation Day: Collaborating through Convergent Research. Set for Friday, Jan. 28, all faculty and staff are welcome to RSVP for hybrid the event.
Through a variety of initiatives—from research partnerships with local organizations
and city agencies to programs and events that integrate service and
learning— Innovation Day's featured projects will provide a glimpse of DePaul's dedication to
Chicago and lead the way to Abin's keynote
presentation. A DePaul alumnus, Abin leads and manages World Business Chicago's innovation and venture portfolio of programs driving inclusive growth and
opportunity for Chicago’s tech economy and innovation ecosystem. His flagship
programs include Startup Chicago, the Chicago Venture Summit, ThinkChicago, and
Venture Engine with the Illinois Science and Technology Coalition.
DePaul's Innovation Day aims to connect colleagues across campus to connect with one another and be inspired by the innovative and collaborative research and creative activities at the university. The event features a rich program of presentations, panels, and talks that
address challenges and opportunities arising from pressing societal needs while
showcasing deep integration across different disciplines.
