(DePaul University/Jamie Moncrief)The Columbus Day Parade will take place Monday, Oct. 14 at 12:30 p.m. along State St. from Wacker Dr. to Van Buren St. The parade has more 150 units – bands, floats and marchers. Those traveling near the Loop Campus should allow extra time, expect delays or consider alternate routes to avoid the impact of street closures and crowds. Remember - be vigilant of your surroundings during the parade. If you see a suspicious person, object or vehicle along or near the parade route, report the sighting to 9-1-1 or to law enforcement personnel. Do not store, hide or leave any personal items, backpacks, packages or clothes along or near the parade. If you see something, say something.
