The Public Relations Student Society of America highlighted a DePaul University team in the 2018 Bateman Case Study Competition. The "Fighting Five" received an honorable mention with their campaign for With Purpose, an organization that seeks to provide safe and effective treatment for children with cancer.

Students Heather Bland, Darcy Heinrichs, Olivia Knowlton, Isabel Rejto and Andrew Willet created a campaign around the concept "everyone can be a hero," with tactics including making cards for kids at La Rabidia Children's Hospital, putting together a petition to support the STAR act and getting a public statement of support from Senator Tammy Duckworth. Their case study was selected from more than 80 entries, which were evaluated by a panel of industry professionals.

"This honorable mention is a recognition of the team's hard work over more than 22 weeks and of their contribution to With Purpose's amazing cause," says Maria DeMoya an assistant professor in the College of Communication and the team's faculty advisor.

An affiliate of PRSA, the Public Relations Student Society of America is a nationally recognized pre-professional organization dedicated to educating students in the field of public relations. Read more about DePaul University's chapter on its website.
