Identity-specific Cultural and Resource Centers graduation celebrations


Cultural resource center graduations
As the Class of 2021 makes plans for this spring's Graduation Celebration, DePaul's identity-specific cultural and resource centers also are preparing to celebrate Blue Demons this commencement season.

DPUBLC graduation

The DePaul Black Leadership Coalition, known as DPUBLC, will present the 24th annual Graduation Celebration for Students of African Descent. The virtual event will broadcast live via YouTube at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, June 4. The group has prepared a presentation to recognize graduates and share positive messages through music, speakers and cultural demonstrations. All members of the university community, and family and friends of graduates are welcome to attend the event.

Students from the Class of 2021 who graduate in the fall or winter, or completed the degree conferral process for their colleges, will receive a personalized link to submit information to be included in the program. Contact dpublc@depaul.edu if you do not receive this email by April 23.

ELEVATE graduation

ELEVATE, DePaul's Asian/Asian American employee resource group, will present its fourth annual Rise Up: Elevate Graduation Banquet for Asia, Pacific Islander and Desi American students on Tuesday, June 1, at 6 p.m. The virtual event will recognize the academic achievements of DePaul's ADIPA undergraduate and graduate students. All family, friends and members of the university community are welcome to attend.

Graduating students should submit their information​ by Friday, May 28. All graduates and guests must register​ to receive the link to the celebration. Contact elevate@depaul.edu with questions.​

Latinx graduation

This year, the Latinx Cultural Center will present the 25th anniversary Latinx Graduation Celebration on Saturday, June 5 at 10 a.m. DePaul's Latinx community, nuestras familias and friends are welcome to honor graduating students in a ceremony with a bilingual cultural flair. Special alumni and guests will join the event to recognize the proud history of Latinx accomplishments at DePaul over the last 25 years.

Graduating students should submit their information by May 21 at 5 p.m. to be recognized during the ceremony. Guests, nuestras familias and friends must RSVP by 5 p.m. on June 3 to receive the link to view the program.

Additionally, the Latinx Graduation Committee is in search of two graduation speakers. Graduating students interested in applying can visit the registration link for instructions. The speaker application deadline is May 9 at midnight. Contact latinxgraduation@depaul.edu​ with questions.

Lavender graduation

The LGBTQIA Center will host its annual Lavender Graduation ceremony on Thursday, June 3 at 5:30 p.m. This celebration honors graduating students who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual or ally. All members of the university community are welcome to attend and celebrate this year's graduates.

Students who have or will graduate this academic year are welcome to participate in the virtual procession. The deadline to submit information to be included in this program is 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 23. Friends, family, allies and guests must RSVP by 5 p.m. on June 2.
