Last month, the
American Academy of Advertising named Kelly Chu as its 2022-2023 president-elect. Her term will begin in March. Following her term as president-elect, she will serve as president for the organization.
A professor and former program chair of public relations and advertising at DePaul, Chu has been an active member of the AAA since 2006. She is the former chair of the organization's International Advertising Education Committee. She also chaired the 2013 AAA Global Conference in Hawaii. Chu organized and co-chaired numerous pre-conference and special topic sessions, including "The Complexity of Brands Taking a Stand" at the virtual 2021 conference.
AAA aims to be the home base for academic growth, knowledge generation, global insight, networking, and the shared mission of educating the next generation of advertising scholars. AAA is home to a community of scholars and professionals seeking to advance advertising knowledge and education around the world. Members span diverse institutions, academic networks, continents, disciplines and modes of inquiry.
