Save the date for the 2021 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. event

Set for Jan. 19, the 24th annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Remembrance Virtual Event will bring together members of the DePaul community to celebrate the life and living legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. as an activist for social justice. All faculty, staff and students are welcome to RSVP for the event.

Ernest Green will serve as the event's keynote speaker. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, in September 1941, Green and eight other Black students were the first to integrate Little Rock's Central High School following the 1954 U.S. Supreme Court decision in Brown v. Board of Education that declared segregation illegal. They later would become known as the "Little Rock Nine." He received a bachelor's degree in social science and a masters degree in sociology from Michigan State University. He also has received honorary doctorates from Michigan State University, Tougaloo College and Central State University.
