Register for winter quarter DePaul Open Windows Project

Learn
Faculty and staff with children in 1st  through 8th grade are invited to register their children for the second quarter of the DePaul Open Windows project. Developed by the Department of Teacher Education, this program will provide a weekly 30-60 minute online supplemental learning experience created and led by DePaul education majors. Space is limited, and spaces are first come, first served. Submit an interest form on the College of Education website by Jan. 19.

Please note this is not a "homework help" program. It is designed to build on specific interests of the child and to provide one-on-one attention.

Facilitators will match children with DePaul education majors enrolled in courses that help them practice skills related to teaching those subjects including children's literature, social studies, arts methods and math.

Activity topics include book clubs, history mysteries, getting to know the world's greatest artists, science, and people in history you don't know but should know, with more topics to be added. Facilitators plan to build on student interest as much as possible.

Partners will be matched predominately by age level, day and time availability, and interests. Lesson length will vary by age level. Compliance requires parent or guardian supervision.
