On Saturday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m., DePaul will host the only screening of The Short and Sweet Pandemic Film Festival. All members of the university community are welcome to reserve tickets and attend the virtual festival.
In late September, DePaul students were challenged to make an original short film — any genre, style, or format, three minutes or less. Students were asked to reflect how they were feeling while isolated by a paralyzing pandemic and enduring myriad emotions associated with various traumatic U.S. and world events.
Competition organizers were expecting 15-20 submissions. Instead, they received more than 70 films. Thanks to a private donation from a regional philanthropy, the winner of the competition stands to receive $1000, second place, $500, third and fourth place, $250 each.
The screening will begin promptly at 7 p.m. CST. These films will screen together once then never again.
