Nominations are now being accepted for the Staff Quality Service and the Spirit of DePaul Awards. All faculty, staff and students are welcome to submit nominations for each award. Staff Quality Service Award nominations are due by May 1. Spirit of DePaul Award nominations are due by May 8.
Staff Quality Service Awards honor staff members whose service to the university represents the highest standards of quality and effectiveness. Nominations should be based on performance in an officially-recognized staff capacity for 2019-20.
Please submit nominations electronically to the Division of University Marketing and Communications- Special Events by 5 p.m. on Friday, May 1. These should be directed to the attention of Melissa Grady at umc@depaul.edu.
Criteria:
The nomination packet submitted by the supervisor must contain:
- Written endorsement by the supervisor.
- Written endorsement by two colleagues, one of whom serves in a peer capacity.
- Evidence of quality service performed over a period of time. This may include a description of such service that would include considerations such as the level of innovation, the degree of initiative required, collaboration, and institutional impact, especially on students.
- Although consistent quality performance is given weight, this is not a lifetime achievement award.
- Consideration should be given as to how the individual's service enhances a university initiative by promoting collaboration and teamwork to support the institution's mission.
- Supporting materials (emails, letters of commendation, documented outcomes [i.e., cost savings, operational efficiencies]).
- Recipients will receive their awards at the annual Academic Convocation in the fall.
- Recipients must still be employed at the time of Convocation to receive their awards.
Spirit of DePaul Awards honor members of the university community whose service to the university and our students represents the highest standards of service as exemplified by our patron, Saint Vincent de Paul.
During this time of uncertainty and global pandemic, DePaul faculty and staff are regularly facing new demands in serving our community. We appreciate your help in recognizing colleagues for their leadership and service, particularly during this time, and we are grateful for the efforts of all as we strive to live out the mission of DePaul.
Submissions for the Spirit of DePaul Award are due by Friday, May 8. The awards will be presented at the annual Academic Convocation ceremony in the fall. Recipients must still be employed at the time of Convocation to receive their awards.
Criteria:
- Full-time faculty and staff are eligible for this award.
- Achievement: The nominee has made a significant contribution to DePaul University over a period of at least five years.
- Spirit: The nominee personally exemplifies the mission and values of DePaul University.
