Hate crimes against Asian Americans increased nearly 150% in 2020. Unfair blame for COVID-19 helps to explain the spike in violence, but APIDA people have been subject to discrimination since passage of the Chinese Exclusion Act in 1882. The resurgence of white supremacy has also fueled animosity against all marginalized groups.

A panel of faculty, staff and students will offer their perspectives on the problem and address questions and concerns from the audience. All are welcome to attend.
