(DePaul University/Jamie Moncrief)As a country, we commemorate Veterans Day every Nov. 11. Originally known as Armistice Day in honor of the Armistice that ended World War I, this holiday is an opportunity for our nation to reflect on the heroism of those who died in service of the United States.
Throughout the week, the Division of Student Affairs will host a number of events in recognition of DePaul student veterans and family members of veterans, including an annual luncheon featuring remarks from U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth and a salute to service basketball game.
