The Princeton Review has recognized DePaul for its variety of programs and course offerings, proximity to educational and vocational opportunities in Chicago and availability of student resources in the “2023 Best Colleges” guide for prospective undergraduate students.

The educational services company bases its findings on surveys of 160,000 current university students. The list’s 388 colleges—grouped by region—are considered academically outstanding and worthy of consideration by prospective undergraduate students.

In the surveys, DePaul students praised the university’s faculty and classroom experience, saying “instead of only learning from a textbook, I am able to gain real experience from professors who have worked in the field for decades at a time.” More student praise about DePaul is detailed on The Princeton Review website.

While The Princeton Review does not rank the 388 colleges, it tallied students’ ratings to rank schools in subcategories where universities stood apart. DePaul ranked 24th on a list of universities where “town-gown relations are great.” The ranking is based on student ratings of how well students get along with the local community.

Over the past year, The Princeton Review also recognized DePaul in other specialty rankings, including:

  • Top 50 Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Programs (ranked no. 10 in the Midwest and no. 35 nationally)
  • Top 50 Graduate Entrepreneurship Programs (ranked no. 6 in the Midwest and no. 18 nationally)
  • Top 50 Undergraduate Game Design Programs (ranked no. 39)
  • Top 25 Graduate Schools for Game Design (ranked no. 25)
