Now in its ninth year, the 2022-23 BUILD diversity certificate program will host a variety of workshops, including sessions that focus on anti-racism, recruiting a diverse workforce and religious diversity. Set to kick off Sept. 21, all faculty and staff are welcome to register.

This year, the Office of Institutional Diversity and Equity will introduce new workshops and opportunities:

  • The office will incorporate two new workshops, titled BUILD Labs. These labs will offer the opportunity for individuals to meet with other BUILD participants in person to discuss DEI topics, work on case studies and role-play various DEI situations. OIDE will offer two workshops per quarter -- one on the Loop Campus and one on the Lincoln Park Campus. If you attend one of these workshops, it will count toward a BUILD elective.
  • OIDE will offer more asynchronous, self-directed learning opportunities this year.
  • OIDE will partner with the Center for Teaching and Learning and other departments engaged in DEI work in an effort to offer more learning opportunities.

OIDE will host four information sessions for those interested in learning more ahead of the program's launch. Instructions on how to register for the sessions via BlueSky are available on the OIDE website. A Zoom link will be sent to all confirmed participants.
