This summer, the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities appointed DePaul's Elizabeth Ortiz as a co-chair of the organization's consortium for senior diversity officers in Catholic higher education. Vice president for the Office of Institutional Diversity and Equity at DePaul, Ortiz has worked in Catholic higher education for more than 20 years.
Regina Dixon-Reeves, vice provost for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at the University of San Diego, will serve as Ortiz's co-chair. Since the creation of the consortium in 2019, the ACCU has worked towards building an on-going model of support specific to diversity, equity and inclusion officers in Catholic higher education.
Founded in 1899 by 53 delegates from Catholic colleges across the United States, the ACCU currently includes more than 90% of accredited Catholic institutions of higher learning in the U.S., as well as more than 20 international universities.
