Chicago's public health commissioner to address symposium on COVID society

Allison Arwady, commissioner of the Chicago Department of Public Health, will be the keynote speaker on Oct. 29 when the Society of Vincent de Paul Professors and the Office of Research Services present "Creating a New Normal in a COVID Society.​"

During the virtual program, Arwady's remarks will review the impact COVID-19 has had on Chicago and propose next steps for our community.

Following the keynote address, Cynthia Pickett, associate vice provost for diversity, equity and inclusion, will ​moderate a panel of DePaul professors discussing their COVID-related research and the implications of their findings: 

  • Jocelyn Carter, Vincent de Paul Professor of psychology
  • Kathryn Ibata-Arens, Vincent de Paul Professor of political science
  • Susan McMahon, Vincent de Paul Professor​ of clinical and community psychology
  • Alyssa Westring, Vincent de Paul Professor of management and entrepreneurship
