Short for “teachers of English to speakers of other languages-bilingual education," the award recognizes professionals who demonstrate excellence as an instructor, dedication to the TESOL field and commitment to the professional development of colleagues.

Rasmussen has been an instructor at DePaul since 2000. The English Language Academy operates with a comprehensive approach to academic English instruction that focuses on language skills, university academic and social life, and contemporary American culture. The academy has a range of offerings, from an intensive English program to pronunciation training for success.

Founded in 1970, the Illinois Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages-Bilingual Education is a nonprofit, professional organization that aims to promote scholarship and support instruction in bilingual education and the teaching of standard English to speakers of other dialects.
